Reservations Sales Agents

Smiles and maintains a friendly attitude with all our internal and external guests. Provides good communication skills over the phone and performs an array of office duties assigned by management. Efficiently provides callers with information on room rates, packages, availability regarding room types, amenities regarding the property and the surrounding area. Always strives to acquire the highest rate possible. Ensures the courteous handling of the guests over the phone prior to their arrival.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides the callers with a positive and professional image of our company.
  • Communicates with the guests in a friendly and professional manner using a courteous tone as described in the department standards.
  • Acquires a comprehensive and up to date knowledge of the company in order to provide the guests information based on their needs.
  • Provides the guests accurate information about our resorts.
  • Answers guests' questions with patience and empathy.
  • Communicates with the guests using positive language and standard, professional English.
  • Follows through any situation or complaint to insure resolution of the issue and customer satisfaction.
  • Commits to company pursuit of excellence in service and of entrepreneurial, sales-focused culture.
  • Adheres and supports the mission and culture of Evans Hotels.
  • Supports a positive work environment and works well as a team member.
  • Reports any unsafe behavior or work condition to a supervisor and works together with other team members to assure a safe work environment.
  • Accurately inputs information into the computer systems.
  • Understands and is able to explain room types, rates, parking, charges, taxes, and amenities of the resort.
  • Understands and is able to explain billing to guests.
  • Prepares necessary daily and weekly reports on sales activities.
  • Informs current and prospective customers of current promotions and new or upgraded products.
  • Quotes prices and provides an excellent description of related values and benefits.
  • Encourages customers to commit to reserve an accommodation.
  • Analyzes requirements of function, outlines available hotel facilities and services offered, and quotes related prices.
  • Follows up with customers to assure satisfaction, respond to inquires, solicit further sales, and solve or refer problems.
  • Is open and patiently available to all guests’ requests and complaints regarding the property. Understands and adheres to company policies and rules.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) are preferred; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to clearly and proficiently speak the English language. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of keyboard operation, Windows 98 or above, and Internet. The employee should be able to type a minimum of 25 words per minute.

The employee must be available to work full time (40 hours a week); however, time outside of the regularly scheduled time frame will be required during busy periods.
