Catamaran Resort Hotel and Spa to Host Movies on the Beach as Part of Spring Break Festivities
San Diego, California (March 2014) – The Catamaran Resort Hotel and Spa today announced its activities for the Spring Break season, a six-week celebration of the San Diego outdoors that includes complimentary movies on the beach of Mission Bay. The Spring Break period at the Catamaran begins this weekend and runs through April 20.
For the first time ever, the Catamaran will host movies in its backyard on the Mission Bay shoreline. Every Friday at sunset from March 28 – April 18, a movie will be projected onto a 16×9 screen for resort guests to enjoy. Feature films will be announced at a later date. Popcorn and other refreshments from the on-site Snack Shack will be available.
Spring Break begins with the opening of the Catamaran’s pool bar and grill this weekend. From 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m., the pool bar and grill will serve hamburgers, hot dogs, pesto chicken sandwiches, and shrimp ceviche tostadas. Temperatures are expected to be in the lower 80s this weekend, and the pool bar and grill will be open seven days a week through April 20.
Bahia Belle cruises will expand from its weekend-only schedule to Wednesdays – Sundays beginning March 19. Family cruises begin at 7:00 p.m. and cocktail cruises with nightly live entertainment begin at 9:00 p.m. All runs are free for resort guests.
Other activities include complimentary lei making and hula dancing lessons for kids on Saturdays, as well as torch lighting ceremonies with Polynesian performances on Thursdays and Sundays.
The Catamaran’s sister property, Bahia Resort Hotel, also has several spring break activities on its schedule. The Bahia has Movie Nights at the Pool on Saturdays and complimentary watersports lessons with rentals.
