Guests Can Choose From Surf Lessons, Kids' Programs,

California (April 2005) - The Catamaran Resort Hotel, located
on scenic Mission Bay, has just announced its summer line-up
of activities for the whole family. Acres of lush tropical
plantings, ponds, exotic birds and sandy beaches are the backdrop
to a summer of fun for hotel guests with activities ranging
from surf lessons to kids' programs, sunset luaus, bay cruises
and more. |
| FAMILY FUN FOR ALL AGES |
| Learn
to ride the waves like the big Kahunas with surf lessons from
a real pro. The basic techniques of surfing like foot positions,
leash use and paddle techniques are taught, introductory lessons
are complimentary. Ocean trials including a surfboard and
wetsuit are offered daily and cost $60 per person ages 4 to
50. Kayak, windsurfing and Waverunner lessons are also available.
If land activities are more to your liking, the Catamaran
Resort Hotel offers daily volleyball games on the beach and
a 3-mile walk/run path along Mission Bay to its sister property,
the Bahia Resort Hotel. On Tuesday nights, grab a blanket
and enjoy a family movie on the beach where popcorn and sodas
are served. |
| ACTIVITY PROGRAMS JUST FOR KIDS |
| There's plenty of fun for kids at the Catamaran Resort Hotel's Mad Science Program which is specially designed to educate and entertain kids ages 3 to 12. This award-wining program with a strong educational focus is offered throughout the day and is taught by trained, reliable instructors in a hands-on environment where kids learn about science in an entertaining way. Most modules include a project with a take away item. Each module is $3. |
| ENTERTAINMENT ON LAND AND SEA |
| For entertainment, the Catamaran offers a number of options for day and night. Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays at 1 pm UB Jammin Steel Drum Band kicks off a Caribbean Party poolside with food and drink specials that last until 5 pm each evening. Steps from the resort on its own private dock, guests can board the Bahia Belle Sternwheeler for a complimentary evening cruise on the bay under the stars. Dance the night away to live music, or enjoy a cocktail from the boat's two no-host bars. |
| SPEND AN EVENING IN POLYNESIA |
| There is no shortage of dining
options at the Catamaran and during the summer, the fun factor
is turned up with the resort's Sunset Luau that runs every
Friday beginning July 1 through September 9. Located on the
beach, this not to be missed classic Polynesian extravaganza
features authentic food and entertainment amongst lush, tropical
plantings and fiery tiki torches. Priced at $50 for adults,
$24 for kids (ages 5-11). With special rates for hotel guests,
the show runs from 6:00 to 9:00 pm and includes a sumptuous
Polynesian menu that features roasted Kalua pig, grilled mahi
mahi, stir-fried vegetables, and a number of salads and tropical
deserts to choose from. A tropical Tiki Bar covered in bamboo
serves exotic drinks such as mai tai's and pina coladas. Once
the sun sets, the "Pride of Polynesia" performers
take to the stage for an exciting evening of song and dance.
Accompanied by traditional music, the dancers take guests
through a musical tour of Polynesia - from captivating hulas
to fiery torch dancing. For casual family style dining, guests
can enjoy the Atoll restaurant on Sunday evenings where home-style
food like roast chicken, meatloaf and more is served in large
platters family style. |

| A stroll through the grounds of
the Catamaran Resort Hotel is like entering a tropical paradise
of colorful flowers, lush palms, exotic birds and at night,
romantic tiki torches. Meet the resort's collection of resident
exotic birds, including a pair of black swans and colorful
waterfowl. Talking Macaws and Parrots have their own special
house with handlers and perform tricks for guests. The resort's
