A Tasty Holiday Gift From Oceana Coastal Kitchen
Peppermint Bark Recipe:
Hanukkah and Christmas may be weeks away, but in the spirit of the season, Oceana Coastal Kitchen at the Catamaran Resort is offering guests a delicious gift – in the form of a holiday recipe – to make at home for family and friends. A nostalgic holiday favorite, peppermint bark is a white and dark chocolate confection sprinkled with peppermint that is sure to make any seasonal gathering memorable. - 2 cups Semisweet Chocolate chips
- 2 cups White chocolate chips
- 2 tsp. Crushed Peppermint
- Cookie pan lined with parchment
Melt semisweet chips in a bowl, over a pot, with simmering water.
Allow to melt down approximately 50%. Slowly stir the chocolate ensuring to scrape the sides of the bowl. Mix until nicely coated and melted. Allow to melt and continue to stir in stages until completely smooth.
Pour onto sheet pan. Pick the pan up and tilt it to move the chocolate around to spread evenly.
Sprinkle with 1 tsp. of peppermint.
Start melting white chocolate chips in the same manner as the semisweet chips.
Just before the melted semisweet chips start to harden, pour the melted white chocolate on top.
This ensures that the two chocolates stick together. Sprinkle with 1 tsp. of peppermint. Allow to cool and harden completely.
Place in refrigerator for 20-30 min.
Break into shards and enjoy!
