How to Spa

Featuring tropical botanicals and marine-based products, the treatments at The Catamaran Spa are designed with your wellness in mind. Build your day of relaxation with a selection of Mission Bay spa services including massages, facials, and nail care options.

APPOINTMENT CANCELLATION

If you need to cancel your spa appointment, please let us know at least 24 hours in advance to avoid being charged the full treatment price. We understand that plans change, and we appreciate your consideration, as it allows us to accommodate other guests.
 

Appointment Scheduling

To ensure you get your preferred services and times, we recommend booking your spa appointments at least two weeks in advance for weekdays and two to four weeks in advance for weekends or holidays, particularly during the summer season.

On some days, we may have same-day or next-day appointments available. Please call us or stop by to see how we can best accommodate your needs. Prices, services, and hours are subject to change without notification. Please check with us to confirm the current details. Our friendly spa reservationists are here to help you plan a satisfying spa experience.
 

Age requirement

Guests under 12 years old can enjoy nail services, and those aged 12-16 years old can receive nail and facial services. Anyone 16 years or older may enjoy any of our services. All guests under 16 years old must have a parent or guardian with them at the Spa. Please see "Release of Liability" at the Spa reception for details, as a parent or guardian must sign for anyone under 18 years old.
 

What time to arrive

To fully enjoy your spa experience, please arrive 30 minutes before your first treatment. This allows time to check in, change into your robe and slippers, shower, and begin slowing down to prepare for your treatment. Feel free to relax in our lounge, steam room, sauna, and outdoor co-ed whirlpool before or after your treatment. You’re also welcome to use the fitness center within the spa and the resort pool area a short walk from the spa.
 

Arriving Late

We understand delays happen. However, arriving late may shorten your treatment time, affecting its effectiveness and your enjoyment. Treatments will end at the scheduled time to ensure the next guest isn't delayed, and the full value of the treatment will be charged.
 
If it is your first time visiting the Spa, please allow ample time to find us. We are located near the outdoor seating area of Oceana Coastal Kitchen restaurant, with our front entrance facing Mission Bay.


What we provide

We provide a locker, cozy robe, and sandals for your comfort. To help you stay well-hydrated before and after your treatments, our relaxation lounge offers complimentary infused water, a variety of tea, and light snacks.
 

What to Leave at Home

We recommend leaving jewelry and valuables at home or in a hotel-provided safe. A spa locker is available for your personal items. For your safety and the best spa experience, alcohol is not allowed at the spa.
 

Cell Phones

Please help us maintain a tranquil environment by silencing your cell phones and refraining from using them during your visit. This is a peaceful sanctuary for you and other guests to relax.
 

Gratuities

A 20% service charge is included in the full price of each treatment. This is distributed among your therapist (18%) and our spa attendants and receptionists (2%). You may choose to leave an additional gratuity for your therapist if you wish. 
 

Comfort Level During the Treatments

Your comfort is our priority. Undress to your desired level of comfort for treatments, as our skilled therapists will ensure appropriate draping for privacy. During treatments, only the area being worked on will be undraped. 
 

Health Concerns

Please inform us of any health conditions, allergies, or pregnancy when booking your appointment and upon arrival. This allows us to prioritize your safety and comfort during treatments.


Pregnancy

If you're pregnant, please let us know when booking your treatment. You may want to avoid deep pressure, massage in certain areas of your body, and heat treatments. Our spa reservationists are here to help you choose the safest and most comfortable options for you.


Gift Cards

Gift cards are available for any dollar amount and can be used at The Spa for services or retail, at Oceana Coastal Kitchen, or for overnight accommodations at the Catamaran Resort Hotel and Spa.
